Post Sale Update: After 24 bids on eBay, this Honda sold for $2,950.
AMEN (American Motorcycle ENgineering) was based in North Hollywood, California, and they made a variety of custom parts in the 70s. One of their signature pieces was the Savior sprung frame, a “soft one that looks hard” – the idea was that you’d get the looks of a hardtail with the ‘comfort’ of two shocks in the back. Savior frames were available for a variety of Honda CBs – 350, 450, 500, 550, and 750s. Here’s an example of the latter that was built in the early 70s.
The original owner covered this bike with period cartoons and drawings, which have thankfully been preserved. There’s plenty of spare parts including another 750 engine, but the bike isn’t perfect. The chrome is heavily pitted and the bike hasn’t been started in the last few months because the seller is having back issues. The seller has owned the bike since approximately 2007 and says it runs and drives great, so here’s your chance at getting a time capsule of chopper culture.
