Post Sale Update: This Harley sold for $13,100 after 55 bids on eBay.
The FLH produced 60 horsepower – 6 more than the FL models. The extra horsepower were helpful when you consider all the extra weight that came from the “King of the Highway” factory option package which included a fiberglass fairing and full luggage. In 1970, Harley was taken over by AMF and the FLH was updated with changes like an alternator and cam-driven ignition. 2 years later the bike got a helpful front disc brake to manage the 738 pounds of weight. This example hasn’t tested that front brake often, as it has just 330 miles on the odometer.
This example (VIN: 2A20872H3) has sat in “a warehouse private collection for the last 20 plus years” and the seller put just 6 of the 330 miles on it himself during which he changed the oil, flushed the brake fluid, installed a new battery, cleaned the carb, and ensure that everything critical to riding works. It’s got some period options like the AM/FM/8 Track player, cigarette lighter, plenty of chrome dress pieces, and the factory white luggage. The only flaw seems to be a dent in the right side of the gas tank.
