One of the requests I got from the Reader Survey was to update y’all with the results of featured bike listings. I thought that was a good idea – hopefully you’ve seen in the past that I sometimes update a post with the final sale price, if I’m able to find it. But that requires you to go back in the past. So let’s look back at some of the more interesting features, and see what the final sale prices were. Let’s take a look at April 2016.
Obviously, this will only include listings from eBay (or other auction sites). I unfortunately have no way of finding out final sale prices of bikes offered on Craigslist/Cycle Trader/Kijiji/etc. With that said, here are some highlights from last month – thanks to reader Eric H, I’m also including locations of the sales as well:
1990 BMW K1 – sold for $3,548 after 27 bids in Chicago, Illinois.
1976 Honda CB400F Super Sport – sold for $6,400 after 21 bids in Englewood, Colorado.
2004 CCM Rotax 600 Flat Tracker – sold for $3,960 after 27 bids in Poway, California.
1970 Dunstall Norton Commando – sold for $15,500 after 7 bids in San Francisco, California.
1938 BMW R51 Racer – after 27 bids on eBay, this R51 racer sold for $30,100. Then it was relisted and sold for $22,600 in Marathon, Florida.
Dockray Built – 1975 Moto Guzzi 850T Custom – sold for $8,610 after 36 bids in Unity, Maine.
2008 Bimota Tesi 3D – sold for $26,877 after 30 bids in Roswell, Georgia.
1952 Norton ES2 – sold for $8,688.81 after 32 bids in Costa Mesa, California.
2008 Aprilia RXV 550 – sold for $6,301 after 24 bids in Chicago, Illinois.
Panhead Cop – 1960 Harley-Davidson Police – sodl for $26,201.50 after 71 bids in Somonauk, Illinois
Mild ISDT Custom – 1973 Hodaka Combat Wombat – sold for $1,201 after 35 bids in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
1983 Honda CB1100F – sold for $3,300 after 7 bids in New Egypt, New Jersey.
1994 Bimota DB2 – sold for $10,076 after 13 bids in San Diego, California.
Pre-Import Interceptor – 1984 Honda VF1000R – sold for the BIN of $9,500.
Restored Combat – 1972 Norton Commando Roadster – sold for $12,590 after 42 bids in Boise, Idaho.
Here’s some stuff that didn’t sell:
1951 Vincent Black Shadow – did not meet reserve with bidding up to $65,100 in Hancock, Maine.
The Mud Dauber – 1999 Harley-Davidson Sportster Custom – did not meet reserve with 46 bids up to $11,600 in Ozark, Missouri.
1905 Indian Camelback – did not meet reserve with bidding up to $55,100 in Dayton, Ohio.
1966 Cimatti 160 – did not meet reserve with bidding up to $2,600 in Deerfield, Illinois
1975 Bimota YB1 – did not meet reserve with 30 bids up to $15,988 in Alcheda, Italy
1954 Harley-Davidson Panhead Board Tracker – did not meet reserve with 21 bids up to $15,100 in Daytona Beach, Florida.
