I normally wouldn’t have much interest in a 16-year-old electric scooter but someone clever has used this Vectrix VX-1 as the base for a wood-bodied Art Deco-inspired custom.
“This VX-1 is fitted with custom art deco style streamlined bodywork, which is finished in automotive-grade epoxy over hand-formed Mahogany wood and fiberglass. It features two half shells that can be removed individually to access the mechanicals. Additional equipment includes a tan leather Corbin seat, running boards, aluminum trim, a chrome headlight housing, side mirrors, a center stand, and hand guards with integrated LED signals.”
The original battery pack was replaced with a custom 6 kWh unit made out of the cells found in a Nissan Leaf – the seller states that it takes roughly 5 hours for a full charge and that max range is 65 miles.
Find this custom scooter for sale in Eugene, Oregon for $12,000 here on Facebook Marketplace. There’s a (very) short video in the listing if you want to hear it move as well.
