After 40 years of operation in Ocala, Florida, Earl’s Cycle Center is shutting down. The remaining inventory is approximately 1,800 bikes strong – not to mention plenty of parts and even some cars – and it’s all about to be auctioned off by J. Wood & Company in what they claim might be the largest single consignor motorcycle auction ever. Even better? It’s all being offered with no reserve next month!
Head on over to J. Wood for some details – just note that they’re constantly updating the site with more bikes. The bulk of the lots are 50s-70s Britbikes with some 60s-80s Japanese bikes as well. There’s a 10% buyers premium and credit cards will be accepted with a 3% “convenience” fee. The auction runs from March 13-15 (Daytona Bike Week), though inspection starts on the 11th. So mark your calendar and bring your truck down to Florida!
As you’d expect from a collection this large that’s been stored for years, most are projects. With that said, there are a few bikes that look just about rideable, and I suspect this auction will reward people who are willing to do a little legwork beforehand. Highlights include a Triumph Hurricane with 510 miles,
There’s a whole lot, so click here to get more information or click here for Page 1 of the bikes / here for Page 2 of the bikes. More bikes to come as they keep going through the collection!
