This week, RM and Sotheby’s are partnering to auction off over 100 pricey cars…and 2 bikes. Neither of the 2 wheelers has a reserve, so they’re going to have new owners very soon.
Normally I pick out a few favorites from an auction, but seeing as there’s just two this time around:
1967 Matchless G80CS – estimated to sell between $5,000 – $10,000. This example (VIN: C11503) is one of the last G80CS’ and it’s been with the same owner since 1999. It has been restored and shows just 15 miles on the odo. It looks fantastic, though it may now be resigned to a life of never getting dirty again.
1946 Indian Chief – estimated to sell between $25,000 – $30,000. This bike (VIN: 3461144) has been with the owner since 1984, and just like the above bike it was restored as soon as he acquired it. It has won several awards at AACA events. Over the last 30 years, it somehow has acquired just 170 miles on the odometer.
For more information on both bikes, head on over to the auction website.
I know most motorcycle enthusiasts also love cars, so here’s the list of automobiles for those of you that are curious. If I was wealthy and could only have one of the lots, it’d be this ’67 Ferrari 330 GTS convertible. I’m one of those people that prefers convertibles over hardtops. Yes, I know the hardtop is faster. No, I don’t care. I’ll go fast on a motorcycle if it means I can enjoy the sun in my car.
