This Thursday, April 28th (a weird day to have a public auction), the U.S. Marshals are auctioning off a whole bunch of fancy cars and motorcycles. You can bid in person in Kansas City, or via telephone or online. This obviously gets a lot less interest than your usual Mecum/Bonhams auction, so maybe you can snap something up for a relative bargain?
This time around they’ve got a whole bunch of Ducatis. I’m really wondering how these bikes were seized, as my entire understanding of how the US Marshals work is from the TV show Justified. Anyway, the pictures are minuscule so I’m not going to bother sharing any of them, but this auction includes:
– 2014 Ducati Superleggera – #105 of 500 with just 4 miles.
– 2012 EBR 1190RS – signed by Erik Buell, with 100 miles. It actually looks like a Carbon Edition to me, but again, these pictures are incredibly tiny.
– 2002 Ducati 998S Ben Bostrom Replica – #18 of 155 with 384 miles.
– 2008 Ducati Desmosedici – #895 of 1,500, 1,814 miles.
– 2015 Ducati 899 Panigale – 399 miles.
– 2015 Ducati Monster 1200 – just 4 miles
– 2014 Ducati Monster 696 – 1,403 miles.
– 2015 Ducati Panigale 1199 S – 401 miles.
– 2014 Aprilia RSV4 Factory – 381 miles.
– 2007 Ducati 1098 S Tricolore – 276 miles.
– 2005 Ducati 999 Biposto – 2,821 miles,
– 2015 Ducati Monster 821 – 4 miles.
– 2010 Ducati 1198 S Corse – 1,198 miles.
– 2012 Ducati Panigale 1199 – 485 miles.
Bonus points for the 2014 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet – plus there’s a whole bunch of cool cars, too. For the full catalog of what’s on offer, check out this PDF. I have so many questions – is this all from one successful criminal who was obsessed with Italian bikes? Why are there so many Ducatis? Why can’t I have a garage like this?
Ignore my temporary crisis of faith for a moment. If you’re interested in bidding on any of these lots, check out this link for instructions on how to participate. Then email me when you buy one so I can gloat about you!
