Looking like a baby version of the early Darmah, the Ducati 350 GTV was an evolution of the unpopular GTL. Unfortunately, nearly all the Ducati parallel twins suffered from reliability issues, but this one seems to be in good shape…for now.
The reliability problems were widespread and included problems like crankshaft and valve gear failures. In addition, oil pumps would fail, and there were failures with camchains and camshaft. When the 350cc engine does work, it produces 25 horsepower to motivate a bike that weighed a hair over 400 pounds. This specific Ducati 350 GTV (VIN: DM350C039598) has 15,100 miles, and despite normal wear and tear it looks good. I suspect part of the reason I’m featuring this bike is because I’m a huge sucker for the black/gold scheme. There’s a couple of minor issues – the seat is frayed and the horn’s been removed, but the biggest thing is that the original shocks are quite soft. The seller has aftermarket Marzocchi shocks but hasn’t had a chance to install them, and it’s not clear if they’ll come with the bike.
