Post Sale Update: After a whopping 79 bids on eBay, this Chispa sold for $3,850.
Built as a little replica of the Sherpa T, the Bultaco Chispa was “designed for children to initiate them in the secrets and art of good driving.” It was offered between 1974 and 1980.
It might look like a toy but it was quite capable. Built to rival the Montesa Cota 25, the Chispa featured a 49cc Ducati two-stroke engine, 3 speed transmission, Dell’Orto carb, and 16″ front/15″ rear wheels. Look how could your kid could be:
The seller says the engine was rebuilt by Bore Tech with new bearings, seals, and piston. It does have some cosmetic issues but at least you’ve got a fresh engine to play with.
