Beautiful Survivor – 1972 BSA B50MX

In England, Off-Road by AbhiLeave a Comment

Post Sale Update – After 12 bids on eBay, this BSA sold for $7,101 on eBay.

BSA made 3 different versions of the B50 – you can probably guess what the B50MX was for. It was offered starting in 1971 for off-road competition, but within a couple of years BSA was dead and some remaining stock was sold off as the Triumph TR5MX. Expect 34 horsepower out of the out of the 499cc single, to motivate 240 pounds of bike. For more on the B50 line, check out this buying guide from Sump Publishing.

This bike (VIN: B50MX N602455) has a rich history going back to the original owner – a pilot who bought this on March 1, 1973. It’s now being offered by the third owner who says it’s in remarkable shape and that ‘everything is either completely original or period correct.’ The sale includes the original tool kit, owners manual, BSA workshop manual, and all documentation going back to the original sale! It’s in impressive original condition and the documentation is definitely a bonus. This BSA was shown at this year’s Quail Motorcycle Gathering, where all the photos were taken.
