When it was originally sold in July of 1957, this was a Norton Manx 30M. But the story gets much more interesting almost 5 decades later, when a racer named Eric Patterson swapped in a 1,150cc JAP Mk2 motor and took it to the Bonneville Salt Flats to set some speed records.
The bike was built up by Dresda while the motor was done by Mick Cook Racing. The motor features lighter valves, twin BTH magnetos, and more. The first time this Norton went to Bonneville, it set a record of 121 miles per hour. The sale includes copies of the timing receipts from the salt flats as well as copies of an AMA National Land Speed Record certificate.
