At the end of November, I featured a Moto Guzzi V7 Sport that had some very small issues. On the positive side, it had been with the current owner since 2000 and he kept detailed maintenance records. I called it a “nice rider”, and now it’s with Bike-urious reader Jeff O!
In Jeff’s words:
“Hello Abhi. I drove up to Seattle, Washington on Saturday and picked up the ’74 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport which you had profiled on Bike-urious (November 29th). I had the pleasure of meeting Michael Anderson, who has been the caretaker of the Guzzi for the past 20 years, after buying it from its 1975 Salem, Oregon owner. He walked me through the specifics and history of the bike, and helped me get it loaded and tied down in the bed of my truck for the drive back to Bend, Oregon. The seven hour return drive consisted of alternating sun, fog, rain and snow – typical PNW winter weather.
At 8:30pm the bike was offloaded, with the help of my wife and teenage son, and was drying out in my cozy heated garage with his new stablemates. I couldn’t be happier – I have wanted a 70’s vintage Italian bike for years and had my heart set on a nice Moto Guzzi or Laverda (a Ducati being deemed out of my price range). There is snow and ice on the driveway and streets for now, so a ‘get acquainted” ride will have to wait for warmer weather. I think I will be having a lot of fun this Spring and Summer! Thanks for the heads up on this beautiful V7 Sport.
It’s hard to keep an eye on all the ‘for sale’ sites out there, and Bike-urious was a great help in finding this bike.”
Congrats to Jeff on his new Guzzi, and thanks for sharing!
