Congratulations to Bill Day, who bought the no-reserve SRV250 we featured a couple of months ago!
Per Bill:
“I think I found Bike-urious through some other well-known custom bike blog. I follow it daily and have learned a lot about all kinds of motorcycles from the listings and also from your commenting community.
My main bike is a 1985 BMW K100, which I ride both local and long-distance. I do all my own work on my bikes, except for mounting tires. Earlier this summer I sold my 1982 Yamaha XS400, and just as I was getting used to being a one-bike man I saw this curious, exotic V-twin on Bike-urious. I was really drawn to the design, the engine, and the rarity of it. I put in what I thought was a very low maximum bid and was amazed when I won the auction.
Glenn, the seller, was great every step of the way. [Editor’s Note: We’ve featured lots of interesting JDM machines sold by Glenn over the years, including this Honda Spada bought by Bike-urious reader Rod M, this custom Yamaha SDR200, this Honda Stream, this Honda Steed…you get the idea.]
When it arrived (thanks, HaulBikes!), I was happy to find it in the condition I expected from the pictures. It’s dusty and has a bit of rust; the carbs need cleaning and the rubber bits need refreshing; but it’s almost 100% unmolested and it’s fun to learn how it’s organized as I tear it down. I’m looking forward to a winter of freshening it up and a lot of blasting around my local roads next summer.”
I’m excited fo Bill, as well as for any of you that buy bikes through Bike-urious. These are my favorite kinds of posts to share, so don’t hesitate to let me know if you’ve bought something we’ve featured!
