Here’s one I never knew existed – a solo bike from the Russian firm, Ural. The Ural Wolf (sometimes even called a Solo) is an incredibly rare cruiser from Russia, designed to be a stylish alternative to the countless sidecars that Ural normally produces. The story goes that this bike was developed after inspiration from the Russian Night Wolves biker club.
Like the BMW R1200C, this is a cruiser with a boxer engine. Unlike the Beemer, this has a 750cc engine, forward and standard foot controls, and a 4-speed transmission. Because the powertrain is so similar to the sidecar bikes, you can easily add a reverse gear if you’re so inclined.
This specific Ural Wolf (VIN: X8JMH233873U21093) apparently sat around for 10 years before being fueled up and started for the first time. I’ve been unable to find exact numbers of how many were imported, but owners suggest that less than 50 ever made it to the states. With just 535 miles on the odometer, you’ll basically have a brand new, ultra-rare cruiser.
