Post Listing Update: This EBR was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown.
Motorcycle enthusiasts are all familiar with the story of Erik Buell, and the disappointing end of his partnership with Harley-Davidson. Good News – Buell is back! In 2011, Erik and his company, Erik Buell Racing (EBR), decided to get back in the sportbike game with a bang – the EBR 1190RS. Limited to just 100 units, the RS featured a powerplant that produced 175 horsepower just shy of 10,000 rpm, and it weighed less than 400 pounds wet.
Winner of Cycle World’s ‘Best Superbike’ and Motorcyclist’s ‘Best Dreambike’, the EBR 1190RS is a sportbike you can’t go wrong with. Components are top-notch everywhere, like the suspension. You’ll get Ohlins 30mm cartridges, as used in the 1125RR race bike, and Ohlins TTX in the rear. It’s just about as good as it gets. Cycle World stated it well:
“…the EBR 1190RS is more than a machine built for homologation needs. It is not the basis for a Superbike; it is a Superbike, more like a racer than anything that has come before, including the Ducati 1098R. (Geoff May’s new racers are 1190RSs with retimed cams and thin base gaskets, and few other changes.) As such, it’s a near-perfect track-day bike for anyone who can bear the steep price tag.”
Buell fever is strong right now with the recent unveiling of the 1190RX, but this is one of the rare opportunities you’ll see to snag a RS.
This specific EBR 1190RS is number 10 of the 100 that were built. With less than 10 miles, it’s basically brand new – and with an original MSRP of $41,995 (plus $4,000 for the Carbon Fiber package), it won’t be going for cheap.
Find this EBR 1190RS for sale here on eBay with bidding up to $21,500 and a BIN price of just under $40k in Angleton, Texas.
