Post Sale Update: This Royal Enfield custom sold for $3,300.
The military doesn’t mention it in their recruitment campaigns, but apparently one of the perks of the job is your ability to commission custom builds from all over the world. That’s how the seller of this bike ended up getting Bull City Customs of New Delhi, India to build him a cool custom Royal Enfield scrambler. The bike is currently in Florida and the seller unfortunately has to let it go as ‘Uncle Sam is sending him overseas.’
The Indian in me really loves custom Enfields (remember Aniket?) and I like a lot of this build, minus the wood inlays.
For many more details on this build, check out this article on Pipeburn. Highlights include a AVL 350 cc engine (Royal Enfield’s lean burn motor), custom subframe and monoshock swingarm, USD forks from a KTM Duke 200, and a KTM rear wheel that was hacked up and turned into a spoked wheel because they really wanted a 17″ rear and couldn’t find anything else that would work. The bike is named “8”, and you can see that number in the design of the headlight:
