A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I had recently bought a Brutale 1000 RR out of MV Agusta’s press fleet. Well…I have the opportunity to buy something quirky that’s coming from Australia and I need some space and some money, so the Brutale needs a new home.
MV Agusta calls their Brutale the “king of hypernaked bikes thanks to the absolute quality of the components, the advanced engine and benchmark electronics.” MCN called it “the best MV have produced in a very long time,” adding that “underneath its layers of shiny paint and away from its designer labels, decadent styling and fancy electronics it’s a well-sorted, involving, refined and capable motorcycle.” Most companies dramatically drop the hp of their naked bikes compared to their sportbikes, but in this case MV offers 205+ horsepower, pairing that with Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers and semi-automatic electronic Öhlins NIX30 fork/TTX shock.
This example (VIN: ZCGPLFTW3MV000595) has a clean California title in my name (technically, in Bike-urious’ name) and it’s got 2,576. I purchased it out of MV Agusta’s press fleet so it got frequent maintenance – for what it’s worth, MV told me that this was the bike that Motorcycle.com used in their recent Heavyweight Naked Bike Shootout.
I got it in February and have enjoyed my time with it, though it’s admittedly a little high-strung for my needs. I prefer bikes with more torque and less horsepower, something that’s not annoying to commute with and split lanes with. This bike does not like going under 20 miles an hour, but it loves triple digits! I’m glad I got some time with it, but I have an opportunity to buy something that will hopefully scratch the itch that’s developed since I sold my RC30…more on that later. One thing to note is that the three year/unlimited mile warranty started when I bought the bike in 2/22, not back when it was first ridden in 2021.
Find this Brutale for sale in Santa Monica, California with bidding up to $15,100 and the reserve not yet met here on Iconic Motorbike Auctions.
