Honda’s CR250R is one of the most legendary models in motorcycling. As Dirt Bike Magazine put it, “In the auto world there was the Mustang. In aviation it was the P-51 and in bicycles there was the Schwinn Sting Ray. There are timeless classics in each field, and in the dirt bike world, there’s nothing that has reached that status like the Honda CR250R. Even though it’s been out of production in the U.S. since 2007, the CR probably won more combined amateur and professional races than any other motorcycle in the dirt world. And they are still out there winning.” Here’s one that you can enjoy both off and on road as it’s one of the rare examples that’s been plated in California.
This example combines a ’89 main frame with the motor, swingarm, and subframe from a ’90 model. It has 47mm Showa forks from a CRF model, and some aftermarket extras like a DEP pipe with Answer Racing silencer. The lighting system runs off a rechargeable battery, and it’s got a sticker kit as a replica of Yves Demaria’s Pepsi Honda CR250R race bike.
Find this CR250R for sale in Oakland Hills, California for $7,000 here on Craigslist.
