I’ve featured several examples of Honda’s quirky 3-wheeler called the GYRO (which is apparently an acronym for “Great Your Recreation Original.”) The US only got one of the versions, a “S” model that was focused on just carrying a rider around. But Japan got multiple variants include, the UP, the Canopy, and the X.
The X was the original model, and it offered lots of utility thanks to front and rear racks as well as a limited slip differential. The 50cc 2-stroke motor produced approximately 4 horsepower, enough for a top speed of about 30 miles per hour. The defining feature of the Gyro is a linkage that allows the body of the scooter to lean while the two rear wheels stay perpendicular to the pavement.
This example has just over 2,000 miles and the seller says it just got a service with an oil change, carb clean, and fuel tank clean. It’s got a front basket and a windshield, and it’s California plated.
Find this Gyro X for sale in Orange, California with a BIN of $4,500 here on eBay.
