When Kawasaki introduced the KX500 motocrosser in 1983, Dirt Bike magazine called it “unrideable” and “violent.” Now they just call it “the one bike to ride before you die.”
The bike didn’t change all that much over the years (in fact, from 1994 till it was killed off in 2004, it didn’t change at all). This example stands out as it’s offered on a clean California title with registration current through January 2022. The seller says that it had 40 hours on a rebuild, and it comes with a Baja Designs dual sport kit. Both ends of the suspension were rebuilt and tuned by Exceptional Suspension in Southern California. It also features a GPR steering stabilizer, Easton handlebars, D1H billet bar clamps, Pro Moto billet kickstand, Barkbusters, Acerbis front brake guard, a desert tank, and more.
Find this KX for sale in Costa Mesa, California for $8,000 (now $6,250) here on Craigslist.
