Nicknamed the Ping King, the CR500 was the most powerful MX bike that Honda had produced when it was released in 1984. It’s a MX legend but by the mid 90s it was clear that 4-strokes were the future – it didn’t help that the AMA discontinued the 500 MX race class in 1993. Production ended in 2001, and those bikes were very similar to the ’97 model in front of you today.
