This CBX has just 1.7 miles on the odometer but the seller is new on eBay and has no feedback. With that said, the photos seem to be original so there’s a good chance that this is a legitimate listing and it’s worth getting in touch with the seller if you’ve been looking for a low mile CBX.
When the CBX was originally released, it was a naked superbike with an intoxicating soundtrack. For the last two years of production (1981 and 1982) Honda decided it had a better chance of success in the market as a sport-tourer. The motor was detuned but everything else got beefier – the frame was strengthened to support the installation of a fairing and hard luggage. To cope with the extra weight Honda also added bigger dual front brake discs, 39mm air forks, and a Pro-Link monoshock.
The story with this CBX (VIN: JH2SCO601BC302333) is apparently that it was originally acquired by a school that was going to use it for a tech class. That never happened, and the bike has never been ridden. Per the seller, it’s in showroom condition cosmetically with “the exception of a few scratches from storage.” The motor was last fired up 15 years ago so you’ll need to invest in a little TLC if you want this to be more than a display. The seller is letting it go due to “health issues” and he/she says the sale will include the original front wheel and tire.
