The Indian Scout 741 was used by the US Army, though the 500cc V-Twin was never good enough to beat out Harley’s WLA as the Army’s bike of choice. Instead it was used primarily by couriers and scouts. Here’s one that has shed its’ military background in the process of becoming a flat track racer.
Double Trouble – 1942 Harley-Davidson WLA
View Post90 Miles – 1973 Harley-Davidson Sportster
A few days ago, I featured a modern Sportster with a retro paint job that I really enjoyed:

View PostAll Original – 1968 Harley-Davidson FLH Electra Glide
This impressive specimen is claimed to be an all original (except for the speedo), 47 year old Electra Glide that’s never had an accident or been down. Everything runs well – it was taken on a 800 mile ride last year with no problems. The bike has 38,000 miles and it has sat for 3 months. Find it for sale …
Ivory Comet – 1997 Harley-Davidson Sportster Custom
I was pleasantly surprised to see this bike available for sale, as I saw it at last year’s Venice Vintage Motorcycle Club Rally, where it won best Cafe Racer. This bike has received a tremendous amount of press and won several other awards, including best Cafe Racer at the 2014 Born Free Show.
OCC V-Twin Turbo Sportbike
Here’s something I never thought I’d see – Orange County Choppers building a superbike…sort of. Covered as part of the show American Choppers, a team that normally builds custom choppers came together to build a frankenbike of sorts. It looked like a stretched Yamaha R1, but was powered by a turbocharged V-Twin and was complemented by Brembo brakes, BST wheels, …
“The Narrow One” – 1974 Harley Shovelhead Custom
Post-Sale Update: After being relisted, the Narrow One was sold for $8,500. This Shovelhead bobber is claimed to be an excellent runner (the seller says he’s taken it between LA and Vegas several times) based on a numbers matching ’74 frame, motor, and transmission.
King of the Road – 1958 Harley-Davidson Duo Glide
If you’re a patina guy, this is your bike. This ’58 (the first year of the swingarm chassis, hence the name “Duo”, as well as hydraulic rear brakes) has the F-6 package, also known as the “King of the Highway” Group.
Fully Restored – 1975 Rupp RMX 125
Post Listing Update: This RMX125 did not get any interest at the opening bid of $7,999. Rupp occasionally gets the short end of the stick in public opinion – some people considered the company to be one of the many run-of-the-mill ventures that churned out cheap minibikes in the 70s. But that’s not fair. Rupp was ahead of the game …
1981 Harley Sportster Limited Edition
In 1981, got its independence from AMF thanks to a group of 13 investors led by Vaughn Beals and Willie G. To celebrate this, they released a few limited editions, including the Milwaukee Edition, and this bike, called the Limited Edition or the Series One. 1,000 were built, and this is #283.
