2005 BMW R1200ST

In Germany, Touring by MattLeave a Comment

This is the ugliest bike BMW has ever made, and I think you should buy it because nobody else wants to. A few months back, I got to ride my buddy Jared’s R1200ST for 100 miles and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It did everything well. Handled like a sportier RT, and in every other way is …

Custom Airhead – 1979 BMW R65

In Custom, Germany by MattLeave a Comment

I’m really starting to enjoy these classic airhead builds. I knew that BMW was trying to change their demographic, but I never thought we’d see a day that people are customizing old airheads. My favorite part is that these builders are repurposing bikes that might not necessarily get a second chance at life. Case in point is this 1979 R65. …

1992 BMW K75

In Germany, Standard by MattLeave a Comment

I have to first apologize to Abhi. I volunteered to write for Bike-urious back in December and after a few posts got so busy with work that I was unable to continue. He was kind enough to allow me to come back though. Thank you, Abhi. I noticed when I was doing this the first time, I seemed to have …

1998 MZ Mastiff

In Dual-Sport, Germany, Less than 5k by Abhi3 Comments

7-26-16 Nearly a year later, David N has brought it to my attention that this Mastiff is still for sale! How is that possible? Find it for sale here on Craigslist with a $300 discount – now it’s just $2,900 in Mandarin (Jacksonville), Florida. For the money, this might just be one of my favorite posts on Bike-urious in the …

2008 BMW HP2 Megamoto

In Germany, Sport by AbhiLeave a Comment

Post Listing Update: This Megamoto got up to $8,600 after 15 bids on eBay, but that wasn’t enough to meet reserve. Only 107 of the Megamotos made it into the US, and one of them lives 10 buildings down on my street. I can’t stop staring at it when I go by, which is why I’ve been drooling at this …

8.7 Gallon Tank – 1985 BMW K100RS

In Germany, Touring by AbhiLeave a Comment

At first glance, I thought this was one of the ugliest tanks to ever grace a BMW motorcycle. Closer inspection leaves me with the sentiment that the shape of the Ray Randolph aluminum fuel tank isn’t all that bad, it’s just the badge placement that gives me pause. Still, this K100RS features a 8.7 gallon fuel tank that’ll get you …

2007 Walz Hardcore Chopper Pro Street

In Cruiser, Germany by AbhiLeave a Comment

When I first saw this bike, I assumed it was built by someone in the US (probably Arizona). Turns out it’s actually the work of Marcus Walz, the man behind Walz Hardcore Cycles…based out of Hockenheim, Germany. Custom bike fans should be familiar with Marcus as he supposedly invented the “drag style” of motorcycle in the late 90s.
