Now, did you think I made a typo with the “80” or the “S”? Either way, BMW never made a R80S, but this former R80RT has been converted to look like one, thanks to custom touches like this rear badge:
1975 Honda GL1000 Cafe Racer
The seller of this custom ‘wing (an ex-F22 Raptor mechanic) says he/she spent about 3 years “restoring, modifying, and resurrecting this Goldwing from the grave.” How do you think it turned out?
Motorcycle Classics Feature – 1974 BMW R90/6 Custom
In 2013, Motorcycle Classics and Dairyland Insurance teamed up for the “Race to Rebuild Sweepstakes“, where they customized a BMW R90/6 with a whole bunch of goodies and then gave it away to a lucky man…who’s now selling the custom.
Magnum Opus Build – 1982 Yamaha XV750 Virago Custom
Called the #88 Dual Racer, this Magnum Opus custom build features some nifty “Pipe Dream” looking headers and 50-60 pounds of weight loss in its transformation to a cafe racer.
NC24 – 1987 Honda VFR400R Custom
The 2nd generation of the VFR400R, the NC24 was built in ’87 and ’88 and was the first production Honda to use the ELF-designed Pro-Arm SSSA. This example retains the sweet swingarm but changed a lot from the base bike as it changed into this custom cafe racer.

Guzzi Cafe, Take II – 1975 Moto Guzzi 850T
Post-Sale Update: This 850T cafe racer sold for $5,800 after 25 bids on eBay. I featured a 850T cafe a couple of days ago, but commenters correctly noted that the seller had gone a bit too far with Photoshop in his/her pictures. Here’s my attempt to make amends.

View Post$2,599 – 1978 Yamaha XS500 Cafe
The XS500 didn’t exactly set the world on fire when it was released, especially as it had some reliability issues with valve seats, but here’s an example that’s been modded into a mid-displacement cafe racer.
1987 Moto Guzzi SPII 1000 Custom
From the factory, the SPII 1000 was a visually bulky bike. This custom has shed a lot of the weight -the question now is if you think it looks good as a big cafe racer.
MOTO PGH – 1997 Ducati 904 Cafe Racer
Starting with a Ducati 900SS, MOTO PGH out of Pittsburgh has created what they call a Supreme Cafe Racer.
1972 Honda CB750 Cafe Racer
Post-Listing Update: This CB750 was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown. I’ve heard many comments in the past that you guys/gals like seeing high dollar custom builds because it’s interesting to see how the market values it. Here’s a CB750 that’s seen $20,000 in documented work…but how much of that will come through in the sale price?
