This beautiful VTR build is what I consider to be a top-shelf build with its extensive masterfully fabricated custom work and its array of borrow components off of high-end European machines. Parts such as the chromoly hardtail frame, tank, and fender were all handmade, as was the custom bobber-style seat.
Mostly Correct – 1947 Indian Chief
Post Sale Update: After being relisted, this Chief sold for $22,000 with 42 bids. One of the best looking cruisers in history is the ’47 Chief, which is part of the reason why they aren’t cheap. This matching-numbers example was given a full mechanical restoration. You can tell what the seller was going for when he says “the paint came …
Unexpected Chopper – 1960s BMW R50S
Post Listing Update: The listing was removed. The R50S was the little brother of the legendary R69S, and it was a relatively rare motorcycle in BMW’s history as just 1,634 were produced 1960 and 1962. In 1981, one of those few were turned into a chopper, and it served as a daily rider until recently. I’m almost speechless.
Los Angeles Sheriff – 1961 Harley-Davidson FLH

Period Custom – 1940 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead Chopper
In the 60s, this Knucklehead was chopped up to become the “40 Knuckle.” The seller has owned it for the last 30 years, and he knows who owned it going back a previous 20 – he loves knowing the provenance of this bike and I’m sure the next owner will appreciate that as well.
Unexpected Chopper – Suzuki TL1000 Custom
V-Twin motors are typically the powerplant of choice for choppers…but seeing a ~130 horsepower Suzuki TL motor is unexpected. Combine that with a hardtail frame and knobby tires and you’ve got a bike that’ll get crazy in a hurry.
1970 Moto Guzzi Ambassador
Moto Guzzi first started testing the by now iconic longitudinal 90 degree V-Twin in 1966. Released as the 700 CC V-7 in 1967 it was updated in 1969 as the 750 CC Ambassador (or V-7 Special in Europe) Incredibly to me Guzzi was in state receivership for financial reorganization at the time. To say that the Ambassador sold well (particularly …
Twisted Throttle Threesome
Twisted Throttle is letting go of three of their shop vehicles – a BMW S1000RR, Yamaha Bolt R-Spec, and Honda NC700X. All of them are impressively farkled.
No Reserve – 1978 Harley-Davidson XLCR
I’ve featured plenty XLCRs in the past – I dig them because they’re just so different from Harley’s portfolio at the time. In fact, the bike was a bit too different, as buyers didn’t really warm up to it. Low initial sales make them quite collectible nowadays, which is why the asking prices are high and reserves are often not …
Moonlight Tango – 1978 Harley-Davidson FXS Custom
Built by Anything Goes Custom Cycles, this custom started as a Harley FXS. The builder (Curt Owen) is a big music fan, which is why he likes naming his projects after songs. “Anything Goes” is a reference to a Gregg Allman song, while this bike is named after a Monte Montgomery song called Moonlight Tango. The bike is “a combination …
Hope You Like Chrome – 1967 Harley-Davidson XLCH
In official Harley parlance, the XLCH broke down as follows: XL = the Sportster model introduced in 1957, C = stripped down, and H = high performance. Enthusiasts were known to call the CH by a different name – California Hot Rod or Competition Hot. No matter what you called it, when it was first released in ’58 it was …
Usable Custom – 1950 Harley Davidson FL Hydra Glide
I should know better than to even look at a HD on eBay. They are almost always wildly optimistic with their price and condition. I could see bling in the thumbnail, and I clicked. But this FL is one of those rare Harley’s that has been customized with out chopping or bobbing or wild paint or ape hangers or any …
1971 Norton Hi Rider
Post Sale Update: This Norton sold for $3,749 after 18 bids on eBay. I’m going way out on a limb here by calling this one of the weirdest looking motorcycles ever produced for sale to the general public. What makes this one especially bad is the fact that there is a venerable Norton Commando hiding under all that. What were …
1 of 11 – 2009 Ecosse Iconoclast
Ecossee Moto Works was founded in 2001, and it took them 3 years before they were able to release their first bike – the Heretic. A few years later, they released another model called the Iconoclast in partnership with 20ltd, an online shop that solely offers limited edition design pieces and photography. Just 11 examples were offered and they all …
