New Auction Bike – 1980 Honda Shadow Bobber with CR500 Motor
A couple of years ago, I met Thomas Heinemann at the Quail Motorcycle Gathering, and he was kind enough to share his BMW Krauser MKM 1000 with the readers of Bike-urious. Last week, he called me a saying he had something a little bit different that he wanted to sell. He wasn’t kidding!
CBR300R Swap – 2014 Honda CRF250L
One of my only complaints with the CRF250L is a lack of power (especially when you’re exploring in elevation), which makes this specific CRF-L particularly interesting – it has the 30 horsepower/20 lb-ft motor out of a Honda CBR300R!
No Reserve – 1983 BMW R65 Custom
Post Sale Update: This custom R65 sold for $7,525 after 31 bids on eBay, though the sale may not have gone through as it was relisted. Built by Magnum Opus out of Wilmington, North Carolina, this BMW R65 looks a lot faster than it used to thanks to the Martini Racing livery.

View Post1000cc Custom – 1972 BMW R75/5
After sitting outside and uncovered in the hills of Carmel Valley for 25 years, this BMW 75/5 SWB was discovered by the fine folks at Moto Talbott. They spent over a year bringing this BMW back to life, and now they’re letting it go.
RC162 Inspired – 1973 Honda CB350 Custom
“Ride it or display as art.” That’s how the seller of this CB350 custom sums up his bike, which he calls a tribute to the RC162 racer ridden by Mike Hailwood.
Rare Project – The Mowercycle
Built around a Kawasaki KZ550, this oddball is the “Mowercycle”.
1971 Benelli 175 Cafe Racer
I’m going to need a Benelli expert on this one. In 1971, the only 175 Benelli was making was the Enduro, correct? Either way, this bike has been highly customized into a “cafe racer” and I think the end result looks pretty good.
Turbo Rotary Power – 2002 BMW K100/R1150RT with California Sidecar
At first glance, this looks like a very yellow BMW R1150RT with a sidecar. But those boxer valve covers are fake – they just help hide a 15 gallon fuel tank. Instead, you’ll have to peek underneath the rear of the sidecar to find a 325 horsepower twin turbo motor out of a Mazda Eunos Cosmo! Meet “Rotohak”, presumably named …
New Auction Bike – 2009 Yamaha VMAX Custom
Today on the auction site we’ve got one of the wildest customs I’ve ever seen, a Yamaha VMAX that comes with an invoice for over $84,000 in parts and labor!
CR-F’in Crazy – CRF250L-Powered 2015 Honda Grom
We’ve featured all manner of modified Honda Groms since the pint-sized model’s release in 2014, but this particular example stands out from the rest as it’s powered by the motor from a 2018 CRF250L. Before being shoehorned into a 2015 Grom chassis, the brand-new quarter-liter DOHC single was reportedly given the cam off a CBR250R and a blued GP-style end-can …
72 Motorcycles Build – 2016 Norton MM
In 2015, Norton CEO Stuart Garner was approached by Jamie Ireson of Brighton, England-based customs outfit 72 Motorcycles with the idea for a limited run of bikes paying homage to Ron Wood’s 1970s Norton flat track racers. Ron Wood famously teamed up with tuning legend CR Axtell to create a handful of Norton-based dirt track racers that were surprisingly successful …
VW Powered – 1965 BMW R60/2 Sidecar
Post Sale Update: this Willis sold for $8,000 after 19 bids on eBay in Santa Ynez, California. You guys seemed to get a kick out of the VW-powered R60 Tim found earlier in the week, so here’s one that ups the ante with a sidecar!
