In the 1956 Catalina Grand Prix, nearly 1,000 riders came together to fight it out and earn the title of champion. The guy who succeeded was Chuck Minert, who won on a BSA Gold Star. BSA’s West Coast distributor asked for a replica of the winning bike, and the result was the BSA Catalina Scrambler.
2003 MZ Baghira Black Panther
MZ decided to expand their product line with the introduction of the MZ Baghira, a dual sport with excellent components – bodywork from Acerbis, motor from Yamaha, and suspension from WP. It all combined to make a rare and very satisfying dual purpose motorcycle.
1972 OSSA Pioneer 250
A 250cc enduro from the Spanish firm OSSA, the Pioneer was impressive enough that a Cycle World staffer was so impressed with the test bike he got for a review that he ended up buying his own. Cycle World called it “one of the ruggedest bikes made” and one that was “happiest in the boondocks.”
2002 Hyosung Troy RT125
Never imported to the US or Canada, the Hyosung RT125 (also known as the Troy back in 2002) looks an awful lot like the Yamaha TW200. Here’s your chance to snag a bike that’s claimed to be the only one of its model in the US.
1974 Benelli 175 Enduro
Available only between 1971-1974, the Benelli 175 Enduro was a well-built dual-sport with plenty of chrome.
1972 Triumph Scrambler Custom
This Triumph Scrambler custom is the work of Liberty Vintage Motorcycles, featured on the Discovery TV show Philly Throttle.
Nice Price – 1988 Honda NX125
The Honda NX125 was the smallest of the NX’s, which were only imported for a few years. The combination of XR-roots with a slightly more street friendly composition made it an excellent all-rounder. Offered in the states in 125, 250, and 650cc versions, the NX650 was by far the most popular in the US. Here’s an example that can be …
1989 Yamaha DT125R
An evolution of the DT125, the Yamaha DT125R was sold until 2008 and was very popular as a entry level enduro in Europe. With that said, these are exceedingly rare in the US, so here’s your chance to pick one up that will need a service before you take it to tear up some trails.
Desert Storm Vet – 1978 Hercules K125 Military
This Hercules 125 spent some time in Operation Desert Storm as a NATO bike, but now it has just 1,750 miles and is being offered with a warranty.

1972 Yankee Z500
Post Sale Update: This Z500 sold for $4,465 after 10 bids on eBay. In the early 70s, John Taylor of Schenectady, New York started building the Yankee Z500, an American dual-sport designed to compete with the best bikes coming out of Europe. Yankee Motor Company started by importing machines from OSSA, the Spanish off-road powerhouse, and then moved to modifying …
2006 BMW R1150GSA Special Edition
For the last year of production, BMW released just 350 Special Editions of the venerable R1150GSA. Of those, only 177 were imported to the US. This example has some excellent upgrades to complement what is my favorite paint scheme BMW offered on this series of the GS.
568 Miles – 1975 Yamaha DT125
With a 123cc two-stroke engine that produced about 10 horsepower, the Yamaha DT125 was a competent enduro. It was more capable than you’d expect because it shared almost everything but the engine with the DT175, so you got better components than the average 125. Here’s an example that looks almost new because it’s barely been ridden.
1992 Yamaha TDM850
1-17-15 Update: This TDM850 did not meet reserve at $3,050 last time around. But reader John K. just alerted me that nearly a year later, it’s back up for sale. Find it here with bidding up to $895 and the reserve not yet met or a BIN of $5,500 here on eBay. The Yamaha TDM850 is definitely an oddball…a well-rounded …
2 Miles – 1983 Kawasaki KE100
A diminutive dual-sport produced for 25 years, the Kawasaki KE100 was an evolution of the G5. I can’t argue that there’s anything tremendously special about the KE100 versus the competition, however this example is worth featuring as it’s a 32 year old bike with…1.8 miles. With the exception of the tires and battery, it’s claimed to be original. Find it …
