2004 Ducati Monster 620ie Matrix

In Italy, Sport by Abhi2 Comments

There was above-average interest in the last Matrix-inspired Ducati I featured, so I figured I’d show you guys the other example of the breed – the Ducati Monster 620ie Matrix. Again produced as a tie in to the Matrix film series, just 45 examples of this limited edition were created by taking a standard Monster 620ie and modifying the cosmetics.

OEM Plus – Buell 1125CR Custom

In America, Sport, Touring by AbhiLeave a Comment

What originally started as a Buell 1125CR has now been turned into a custom sport-tourer thanks to plenty of newer OEM Buell parts. This kind of “OEM+” upgrading tickles my fancy – it’s what my friends and I used to do with 90s Honda’s – though I can’t say our end results were as fast as this bumblebee of a …

Low Miles – 2002 BMW R1100S

In Germany, Sport by AbhiLeave a Comment

For a long time, I thought the BMW R1100S was the prettiest bike to come out of Munich for a long, long time. I actually had the pleasure of owning one for a few years, and I thought it was a wonderful, well-balanced road bike. Now’s your chance to partake.

1996 Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport

In Italy, Sport by Abhi3 Comments

The Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport was a beautiful deviation from what people expect from Guzzi. This is one of the earlier models, which comes with gigantic 40mm Dell’Orto’s instead of electronic injection (denoted as the 1100i). The engine produced 90 horsepower and the 5-speed transmission was geared very tall, so you could hit nearly 140. This also means that when …

A couple of weeks ago, while writing up a CBR600F4 racebike, I mentioned that I’ve been on the hunt for some good RC51s to feature. Reader Zack B has answered my call thanks to this find of a Honda RC51 SP1 that, unlike most, is reasonably priced!

2000 Bimota DB4ie

In Italy, Sport by Abhi1 Comment

Unlike the normal DB4, the Bimota DB4ie is a fuel injected biposto. Like the original, it’s a very rare specimen. Only about 75 were made worldwide, and just 15 of those were officially imported to the US. Most were the red/white paint combination, making this yellow/black example a hard to find sportbike.

2004 Ducati 998 Matrix Reloaded Edition

In Italy, Sport by Abhi5 Comments

As a vehicle aficionado, I thought the best part of the Matrix Reloaded was the incredible chase scene which was basically a GM ad. Just for the movie, production crews built a 1.5 mile freeway on old runways of a decommissioned Naval Air Station. At some point in the scene, a Ducati 996 is featured for some high-speed lane splitting:

974 Miles – 1975 John Player Norton Commando

In England, Sport by AbhiLeave a Comment

The Norton Commando was a bike that spawned many variants just based on cosmetic differences. The most collectible of these models was the John Player Norton Commando, a distinctive endurance-inspired Norton with unique bodywork surrounding a completely stock Mark 2A Commando. We’ve never thought the dual headlights upfront were very attractive, but they caught they eyes of many fans who …

1988 Laverda SFC 1000

Post Listing Update: This Laverda RGS did not meet reserve despite 26 bids up to $11,100 on eBay. I’ve been on a little bit of a Laverda kick this last week, but it’s hard not to share these fantastic bikes when they come up for sale. So with that said, here’s one of the last examples of the classic orange …

Cafe Corsa – 1978 Ducati 900SS

In Italy, Sport by AbhiLeave a Comment

Bored out to 905cc, this bevel drive Ducati has just 78 miles on it since a restoration which took 3 years. The seller took special note to avoid modern parts, with the exception of the tires, battery, and mirrors, in an attempt to “keep the character” of this classic. You’ll get 40mm Dell’orto carbs, Marzocchi rear shocks, and plenty of …
