Champion racing frames were built in the late sixties and early seventies by Doug Schwerma of Hayward, California. His frames were sought after in the flat track community and were used by riders like Kenny Roberts, Steve Baker, Don Vesco, and more. This example is #1427 and the seller claims it’s the last frame Schwerma built.
Frame #1427 is filled out by a Honda 350cc single with ‘excellent compression and nice smooth shifting.’ Attached to the frame are CR250 shocks, Betor 35mm forks, a new Champion tank, 7-spoke aluminum wheels, and some other goodies. Somehow this bike has only been used on the street (though I’m not sure how, there’s no lights or plate), so the underside is claimed to be dent/gouge free. It looks like the seller was about 85% through a conversion into a street tracker – it has an exhaust, shortened forks, and he/she notes that the engine has lighting coils. The seller says the plan was to just use one big disc for the front brake and that “4-stroke deceleration from a big single will take care of the rear.” Whether or not you agree, this would be a very cool street bike!
