Post Sale Update: This Christmas Special sold for $5,400 after 45 bids on eBay.
Considered by some as the ultimate Honda Z50, the “Christmas Special” was a limited edition that officially had the model name of “Z50RD” – the D was for “Dealer”. Honda gave two examples to each of their top dealers, though some called it the “Chrome Edition” seeing as nearly every part on the bike (even the frame!) was chromed.
This example (VIN: jh2ab0202gs710440) is said to be in “near-new condition” with approximately 2 hours of run time. “Near-new” is a bit of an exaggeration but the overall condition is still nice. Flaws include a dimple in the tank, wear on the left side engine cover, 2 small gouges in the chain guard, oxidation on the cylinder head, and some chrome pitting on the fenders near the mounting brackets. The seller says that the bike “starts easily and runs perfectly”. It only comes with a Bill of Sale.
