I don’t get why these bikes are worth so much, but it now just seems like a given that a Christmas Special Z50 will sell for at least 4 grand. To be fair, the model is considered by some as the ultimate Honda Z50, as it was a limited edition that each of Honda’s top dealers got 2 of. Nearly every part of the bike (even the frame) was chromed, which is why some people also call it the Chrome Edition. Might as well start calling it the $$$ Edition now.
This example is claimed to be a “like new, low usage 1986 Honda Z50R Christmas Special from a private collector.” The chrome is in good shape overall though there’s some minor flaws that are shown in the listing photos. The carb and grips are repros but the bike “starts easily” and “runs great”. Considering it was called the Christmas Special, the timing’s pretty good for this to make a hell of a Xmas gift…even if it’s just for yourself!
