Thanks to a recent repaint, this 850 Commando looks beautiful, and it’s claimed to run like new. Here’s your chance to re-enact that Peter Egan article from a couple of weeks ago…
In ’73, the Commando got a 828cc engine, which was enough for Norton to add “850” to the name. As a ’74 model, this bike is from the last year before Norton switched the gear shifter to the left to satisfy a US requirement.
This example (VIN: 312144) has just 9,709 miles and looks great thanks to the ‘no expense spared restoration of paint.’ The engine and transmission were also rebuilt, so it ‘runs like new.’ The seller believes he is the fourth owner, and now it’s time for a fifth.
