Contest Intermission Winner – NEXX Helmets Road to Austin 2019

Two weeks ago, I let you know that NEXX Helmets was organizing a contest to supply helmets to a few motorcyclists that would be riding into Austin for MotoGP. One of the winners is Bike-urious reader Alex Baldridge, who will share his ride with you here on this site!

Congrats to Alex! From the NEXX announcement:

ALEX BALDRIDGE | @TWOWHEELSPARTTIME | NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
After taking a new rider course on a whim, Alex now looks back at it as the second best decision he’s ever made (the first was marrying his best friend Katie). While he find his day job in cancer research massively fulfilling, in his spare time he’s feverishly talking about motorcycles, thinking about motorcycles, riding motorcycles, or all 3 at once. Thriving off of coffee, bikes, and constant travel, he frequently combines them on regular tours both overseas and throughout the United States. He stoically believes there always moto-adventures to be had, and new friends to be made. Follow his ride down to Austin in an X.R2 Carbon, with a full ride report to follow on www.bike-urious.com.

As a bonus, his wife will be joining along for part of the adventure:

KATIE LOVELACE BALDRIDGE | @KATIELB213 | NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
When Katie isn’t on her beloved bike, she’s helping others better themselves as a nutritionist and personal trainer. As soon as she started riding 7 years ago, she fell in love with the exhilaration and empowerment that motorcycling brings. Bikes have provided an inlet into a diverse, entertaining, and loving group of women that she would never have met otherwise. Katie spends warm weekends winding through Tennessee backroads with her husband Alex, or with her all-female riders group, the Litas. Her favorite two-wheeled adventures include destination moto-camping and an epic trip exploring the twisty Scotland countryside. Follow her experience in Austin, where she’ll be in her X.G100R Motodrome.

Check out the NEXX announcement here to see the other two winners. Look forward to Alex and Katie’s ride report soon, and I hope to see them (and maybe you?) in Austin later this week
