Called the Mooglide or the Cowglide, this bike was more formally known as the Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail FLSTN, or the Nostalgia. 2,700 examples were created, and the changes were entirely cosmetic. But what changes! Raven Black and Birch White paint with red pinstripes complemented seat and bag accents with a “cow-fur” design. I don’t get it.
Harley initially said this would be a one-year only bike, and the production run sold out quickly. Then Harley decided to keep making the bike, though they made a few changes (and stopped the limit of production) for a few more years. If you’re looking for the true limited bikes, you need to focus on the ’93 models. For more information on the Cow Glide, check out this article from Amy Irene White.
It’s hard to tell which of the 2,700 this bike is as the corresponding photo is blurry (looks like 2,592?), but it’s being offered by the original owner who has thrown several chrome OEM accessories on it – front end, controls, passing lamps, luggage rack, and backrest. The bike shows 21,183 miles on the odometer. In it’s nice shape (and you have to love original owner bikes), but the price definitely reflects it. Find this Harley for sale here on Craigslist in Walnutport, Pennsylvania for a hefty $17,500.
Or, there’s another example for sale: #1234 is in Vernon-Rockville, Connecticut and it looks to be in excellent shape. It’s got an opening bid of $2,500 or a BIN of $19,950
