Slightly reminiscent of the Paul Smart LE model that I wrote up earlier this month is this unique beauty born of the same family. That is to say, it has the same basic building blocks. The bike that you see here is a long way from stock.
It would have started life as part of Ducati’s SportClassic series. All designed by Pierre Terblanche, the range of often limited-number bikes ran from 2006 to 2010. The bikes were all driven by the same 992cc air/oil-cooled V-twin that Ducati was using in its Multistrada at the time. Peak power output was 92 horsepower at 8000 rpm and 67.3 lb-ft of torque at 6000 rpm.
“In broad, general terms, all SportClassics handle far, far better – and more entertainingly – than you might expect compared to most modern retros,” according to British moto-journalist Phil West. “On the downside, that extreme riding position… was uncomfortable.”
The list of parts on this customized version is extensive. I’ll admit I don’t know what some of this even means:

According to the seller, the bike had roughly 2,000 miles on it before the motor was rebuilt. Its speedometer was reset in the process and it now shows 98 miles on the clock. You can find it for sale for $36,000 in Wilmington, North Carolina here on eBay.
