I’ve never featured a motorcycle for sale without a picture of it, but it’s so hard to find a DR BIG in the US that I wanted to share it even before the seller gets photos up!
A production version of the DR-Z (a Paris-Dakar racer piloted by Gaston Rahier) the Suzuki DR750 featured the world’s largest single cylinder engine in a production bike – only to get topped by the DR800 in 1990. As a ’88, this is one of the first year models. Earlier bikes had a larger fuel tank to go with the 727cc, 52 horsepower thumper. For more information, check out this summary from Suzuki Cycles.
This example has 18,600 miles and a clean Illinois title. It’s got crash bars, pannier racks, a center stand, a Laser stainless steel exhaust. The seller notes that the two tanks look like they’ve been dented and repaired, and the fuel equalizer tube between them is partially plugged. Find this DR BIG for sale here on ADVRider (registration required) in Mt. Vernon, Illinois for $4,900.
