4-1-15 Update: This ‘Dunstall Dominator’ replica is up for sale again, this time with a BIN of $15,000 or best offer
Post-Listing Update: This bike did not meet reserve at $12,850.
In the early 1960s, Norton factory racers were called Domiracers. Here’s a Norton Atlas that’s been loaded with every possible period Dunstall bit to look just like the original Domiracers, also called Dunstall Dominators.
This bike was originally imported to Berliner in 1966 as an Atlas 750, and was then restored in the 80s by a former Norton dealer to Dunstall Dominator spec. Currently it’s in “very good cosmetic and mechanical condition”, though there’s some wear from sitting – it’s been ridden just 40 miles since the restoration. Flaws include blemishes on the lower fairing and cracks in the right upper fairing. Also, the brake light doesn’t work and there’s a minimal oil leak (but the latter isn’t really a surprise, is it?)
This specific Dunstall Dominator (VIN: 20117968) just got a service including a new battery, oil change, and valve adjustment. It starts on the second kick and looks absolutely fantastic. Special equipment includes Borrani wheels, Smiths gauges, Girling shocks, and all kinds of Dunstall parts including the 5-gallon fiberglass tank, silencers, fairing, seat, high-comp pistons, cam, heads…the list goes on and on.
