Kawasaki’s Eddie Lawson Replica is a memorable motorcycle of the 80s, which also means it’s become a pricey collectible nowadays. Here’s a fun way to get some ELR style on a budget.
Obviously there’s a bit of a power discrepancy as the original bike was a KZ1000, but this GPz550 features a 592cc big bore kit and several performance upgrades which will ensure it’s easier/more fun to huck around corners: Calfab swingarm, Ohlins shocks, and upgrades to the wheels, forks, and brakes. The bike was “restored a few years ago” and has been sitting since, so I’d budget for a cleaning of those Keihin CR carbs (another nice upgrade). You have to love the Kerker exhaust, as well!
