The seller of this lovely Eldorado needs a bigger bike for 2-up trips so he’s letting his main bike go in advance. He’s named it “Elvira” and he’s clearly loved it over the years. It was fortified with parts from a Los Angeles Police Department Eldo about 10,000 miles ago and has recently completed a 4k mile trip along Route 66 from Houston to Santa Monica.
After the trip, the seller replaced the clutch, pressure plates, and springs. But let’s back up a little bit. The seller bought this bike and the LAPD bike together, then combined them to create Elvira. He documented the process in this photo album. There’s a long list of highlights to the build, but the most important ones include a police dash, handlebar, and floorboards, as well as a National windscreen, Dietz lights, your choice of Dan Brown or Bates bags, USB chargers, and luggage rack. From a maintenance standpoint, within the last 10k miles the bike has received new pistons/jugs, rod bearings, and clutch, with rebuilt carbs rebuilt forks, generator, distributor, and starter. In the seller, words, “the ONLY thing I haven’t rebuilt or serviced in this time is the rear seal/bearing. I’m sure it’s about time for that.” He’s also got a ton of spare parts but it looks like he’s selling those separately.
