Post Sale Update – This TRW sold for $7,300 after 26 bids on eBay.
Built for the British military to utilize in WWII, the TRW arrived a little late: by the time Triumph had released the final version (3rd) of the model, the Allies had already won the war! Despite that, Triumph was able to sell nearly 16,000 units – it’s just that relatively few were sold to British services.
The TRW was instead purchased by the Royal Air Force, and lots of Commonwealth countries, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and even Pakistan. It was never sold new to the public, and less than 100 exist on the register of TRW’s at Burton Bike Bits. For all the information you would want on a TRW, check out this “Buyers Guide” from Sump Publishing.
This bike has never been titled – per the seller this came out of a military depot in Canada back in the 1960s and it has spent its time in a private collection ever since. It’s still in display mode in dry storage but when the seller first got it he said it started up just fine. Find this TRW for sale in Rose City, Michigan with bidding up to $7,100
