Aero-Caproni was an Italian aircraft manufacturer that was banned from producing planes after WWII. Like Aermacchi, Vespa, and other firms, they decided to get into the motorcycle game, and they changed their name to Capriolo in the process. They had about a decade and a half of success until cars became affordable in Italy and the average commuter switched to 4 wheels. Capriolo ran from ’47 to ’64, when it was acquired by Laverda.
This example is claimed to be in very nice condition – the paint is nice but the chrome shows some age. The engine ‘starts first kick’ and everything works as it should. Note that the speedometer was an optional extra when this bike was new, and this model doesn’t have one. Somehow, this bike has never been registered for the road and it comes with the European certificate of origin.
