Post Listing Update: This Puch did not meet reserve despite 15 bids up to $1,550.
In 1967, Puch updated the styling of their 250 Twingle (two pistons share one combustion chamber). It lost some curves but gained some color, and the distinctive drivetrain was left alone.
The fascinating 248cc engine produced 16.5 horsepower and 18 pound-feet of torque. One piston is designed to bring fuel in from the crankcase while the other gets rid of the burned charge to the exhaust headers. Both pistons are connected with one connecting rod. The Twingle name was utilized in the US but in the home continent of Europe the bike was simply called the Puch 250 SGS. 38,584 examples were sold over the production run between 1953 and 1970.
This example (VIN: 1732552) has 5,139 miles on the odometer and the seller claims that everything works after he performed some work like cleaning the carbs and fuel tank. The sale includes the tool kit as well as “some brochures and copies of the service and parts manuals”.
