This 900SS was cosmetically customized by the seller – he finished a month ago but needs to sell this for financial reasons. What do you think of it?
This is a 900SS/SP, so it has certain extras over the CR. Originally, the SP was fully faired, while the CR had a half fairing. That’s not incredibly relevant now consiering the customization but there were other upgrades as well – Showa adjustable front forks (newer CRs got non-adjustable and non-rebuildable Marzocchi units), aluminum swingarm, and carbon fiber fenders.
This example (VIN: ZDM1LC4M4PB007255) has 28,699 miles and while it’s said to be in good shape, they are still some minor issues as you’d expect with a 20+ year old motorcycle. The front fairing had some brake fluid spilled on it right after it was repainted, the rear shock needs to be rebuilt, and the turn signal switchgear should be replaced, but this could be a fun platform to put your finishing touches on. Work that’s already been performed includes a customized subframe, addition of a smaller front fairing, and a Fast by Ferracci pipe. The motor has been left stock though it has a recent valve adjustment and new cam belts.
