Post Sale Update: This SB8R sold for $9,103 after 21 bids on eBay.
I recently featured a SB8R as part of an Italian collection, but this one’s in better shape and the seller is a frequent participant on Bike-urious! Here’s #18 of the 250 built, and it fresh off a showing at the Quail Motorcycle Gathering.
Of the 250 examples, 50 were officially exported to the US. Bimota took the already-excellent V-Twin motor from a Suzuki TL, then fettled with it a little to yield 135 horsepower, which was good for a top speed of 164 miles per hour. Per usual, this was adorned with high-spec components like ISR 6-pot brakes up front and Brembo brakes in the rear, Paioli forks, and an Arrow titanium exhaust. Extensive use of carbon fiber and aluminum helped keep weight down to approximately 380 pounds dry.
This example (VIN: ZESSB8R01YR000018) has 6,900 miles and it’s being sold by a passionate Bimota fan and frequent Bike-urious committer. Recently, he has replaced the clutch cover and some seals to ensure there are no fluid leaks. It’s ready to go and the only real flaw seems to be two small cracks in the fiberglass fairings, which are not uncommon with this model. The sale includes the original key and owner’s manual, as well as the original exhaust and some recent service records. Find this SB8R for sale in Woodland Hills, California with bidding up to $9,003
