Post-Listing Update: After getting no action at the opening bid of $34,000, this bike was relisted and again got no interest at $30,000. This is obviously an incredible bike, but it looks like no one’s interested at these kind of prices.
A couple of years ago, Walt Siegl started building a limited run of custom motorcycles based on Ducati 900cc 2V engines – the idea was that by making a limited run, he could lower the cost a little bit, giving more people the chance to afford one. He called these bikes the Leggero series, and as you can see here from Siegl’s site, the 10 Leggeros were named after the city that they ended up in – now Leggero Toronto is up for sale. It’s been sitting on eBay for a while with no action, but I don’t see that changing before the auction ends thanks to the $34k opening bid…
When new, the Leggeros retailed for just shy of $30k. This specific example (VIN: ZDM1LAANX7B005981) has 3,990 miles – less than 600 of them are from after the build, which was originally based on a 2007 800 Supersport. Highlights of the build include the ~15 pound WSM frame, Showa fully adjustable suspension, Brembo Goldline brakes, Ducati Performance ECU, and of course, the custom WSM bodywork.
