In England – 1981 Honda CB750 Custom

In Custom, Japan by AbhiLeave a Comment

This custom Honda was built to “create a sixties Manx style café racer on a reliable donor” – in this case a ’81 Honda CB750 DOHC. Do you think the builder succeeded?

Honda CB750 Custom - Cockpit

The donor bike was obviously stripped down and all the plastic was removed. The rear of the frame was chopped to make a single seat, and the frame and swingarm were powdercoated. The wheels were replaced with a ’78 750 rear and a ’76 750 front, the latter of which has double discs from a CB500T. The front forks are from a CB900 and they’re braced with a Tarozzi unit, plus Tarozzi clip ons up top. The rearsets are Tarozzi as well. The seat and tank are both custom units made of aluminum, the latter of which is secured by a custom leather strap. The OEM carbs were replaced with 31mm Keihin CR racing models. On a dyno, this bike put out 67.38 horsepower.
