Euro Model – 1984 BMW R100RS

In Germany, Touring by Abhi3 Comments

The BMW R100RS has established itself as one of the best classic touring bikes ever made. Here’s one that stands out in the states because it’s a Euro model that was originally sold in Bahrain. The original owner brought the bike with him as he moved to England and then Phoenix, Arizona. Now it’s with a new owner who’s had the bike for 5 years in San Diego – it’s ready for a new owner and comes complete with a period BMW suit and helmet!

So, you ask, what’s the difference with the Euro model? Well, it has both a kickstarter and a magic button, speedo in kilometers, independent control of the running lights, and exhaust heat shields. The full leather BMW seat plus first gen Schuberth flip-up are just icing on this quirky moto cake. This bike (VIN: 6395960) has 21,000 miles, and the seller says it runs great. The only non-stock piece is an upgraded Thunderchild solid state diode board.
