I try to avoid featuring motorcycles for sale that don’t have an asking price, but some times, you just have to make an exception. This is one of those times. In 2006, Kenny Roberts Jr. rode this KR211V (a home-brew build from Kenny Roberts Racing powered by the engine from Honda’s incredible 250-horsepower RC211V) to two podium finishes. It is claimed to be the only example of the 990cc 5-cylinder monster that’s in private hands – and Kenny Roberts himself recently rode it at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
In Estoril, Roberts Jr. finished just 0.176 seconds behind the leader on this bike. Unfortunately, rule changes the next year in MotoGP moved the displacement level down to 800cc, and Honda’s follow-up engine wasn’t as successful. For more on the build of this racer, check out this article on Sport Rider.
This example is claimed to have a fresh engine, so find it for sale in France here on Race Bike Mart. Hope you’re rich.

UPDATE: Reader Joe B has kindly shared some fantastic photos he took of this exact bike when Roberts Jr. was racing it at Laguna Seca in 2006 – he earned pole position and apparently led several laps of the race!
Lastly, one of the coolest motorcycle-related shots I’ve ever seen:
