Toni Elias is your 2017 MotoAmerica Superbike Champion, and he’s got quite an up-and-down story over the last seven years that’s worth a read. Last year Toni joined Yoshimura Suzuki last year as a fill-in because Jake Lewis was injured during pre-season training – he responded by winning both Superbike races in the season opener! By the time the season was over, Toni won six races and finished 3rd overall. Here’s his steed from fantastic debut year, and it’s ready to race. Just don’t expect to pull off similar lap times!
It’s going to be hard for you to find a better prepped Suzuki GSX-R anywhere. Wet weight is 370 pounds and the recently rebuilt motor puts out 221 horsepower at the rear wheel on $30-a-gallon VP MR12 race gas. As you’d expect, there’s plenty of one-off Yoshimura parts: the tank, billet sub frame, radiator, titanium exhaust, and more. The seller says the brakes are MotoGP-spec Brembos calipers on 330mm rotors, and those are mounted to Martek magnesium wheels.
The seller apparently “saw this bike at the NY Motorcycle Show in December of last year and had to have it!” He says he bought it directly from Yoshimura and then used it at a couple of track days. The seller is actually the owner of Superbike Universe and he says he’s selling off a whole bunch of his bikes to fund a full time car racing effort.
